Grigor as a shepherd: Revival of an ox

IV

St Grigor secretly went out at night from his uncle’s and made his way to the village of Artonk in the region of Mush. There he was pasturing a herd for two years, and taking the wages, would give it to the poor. One day, by the influence of the evil one, an ox died in the field. The owner of the ox came and, seeing it, severely insulted Grigor. The latter said humbly: “Why are you insulting me? I shall go and bring your ox alive to you”. The owner said: “How will you bring it? I saw that it was dead; you have killed it”. Grigor said: “If I don't bring it, let my wages for a year be yours”. And he went to the dead ox and started to pray to God. When he made the sign of the cross over it, the ox immediately came to life by the order of God. And Grigor took it to its owner.
